Lahmacun (Turkish Pizza)

Difficulty –  Level 1

Very easy to do. Even you didn’t cook before.

Ingredients:

1lb ground beef ( %80-%20)

2 large tomatoes

1 tbs butter

1 large onion

2-3 cloves garlic

1 green bell pepper

1 red bell pepper

1/2 cup water

1 cup Parsley

Flat bread (  lavash Bread (10 small or 5 large) )

Advice:

Buy one small food chopper if you will try many of my recipes because we will use it all the time and their price is great. Here is link to the one I use:

You don’t need fancy and expensive for this.

Prepare:

Put onions, tomatoes, garlic, lettuce, bell peppers into food chopper, you might want to cut onions and tomatoes at least 4 slice though. It won’t fit to small chopper, divide items and chop as they fit, we will mix all at the end anyway.

After chopping all the mixture finely , in mid size cup mix that finely chopped mixture with ground beef, butter and water.

Add spices as you like.I do add red flake peppers, black pepper, salt, real butter, little bit olive oil.

Butter or margarine is a must, that will help meat to stick to the bread. I prefer butter over the margarine , thinking it is healthier. Result won’t change, both works.

Nothing hard so far.

The hardest part is to lay meat over the lavash bread equally. 🙂  Really, it requires a little bit experience, don’t worry , try light little taps as you go from center to sides, you are good. You can wet your fingers to prevent meat stick to your fingers.

Pre heat oven 400 degrees and cook only 10 minutes. After 8 minutes, please check. Some ovens are strong than others. Make it crunchy as you desire. I am giving optimal time and temperature to you. You can modify as you like.

Complimentaries:

Best complimentary drink is ayran ( yogurt drink) or kefir and as side dish lots of greens with lemon all over.

And the result;

Voila!
